Book Millionaire continues to move forward, not at the pace we originally intended, but with the same excitement, focus and passion for helping others.

Personally, I needed some time to regroup and understand actions of others, of which I felt deep hurt and sadness. This is, in part, what put the show on hold. I appreciate your patience through this process.

I have observed some disparaging comments about the Book Millionaire show and me.

It has come to our attention — through communications from others — this may be in connection with a group of bloggers who are allegedly blogging false, inaccurate information against about 100+ companies and projects in the publishing industry.

At first I was very angry and wanted to punish the people for what I saw as attacks.

But something deep inside of me looked around at our world and decided we didn’t need anymore thought forms of anger, hate or violence. Our world is at a critical point, we are either going to make it has a human race…or not.

Just look around.

You can see it in the news, in leadership, in your neighborhoods and in your schools. We are at a turning point in humanity where we need to evolve to the next level of human potential and sustainability.

Situations similar to what happened to me and the show have been experienced by others also, often times women.

Here are a few of the recent headlines and summaries:

My Choice was Love and Light — Not Easy

It took some time for me to make my choice that instead of attacking or retaliating for what I perceived as false, misguided actions of others, I decided to find a spiritual understanding and develop a spiritual action plan.

It’s my desire that this experience helps me spiritually grow as an individual and leader.

It took patience and investing time in my process of seeking spiritual answers and healing for this experience. I hope to someday help others heal from the experience of this type of pain. I know it is impossible to give something to another if one doesn’t have it oneself.

This experience triggered judgment and anger inside of me. Before acting or moving forward, I had to wait, so I could come from a wise place. It wasn’t easy and took a while for me to complete my inner work.

Focusing on Needs

As a result of this spiritual growth, I have learned that anything perceived as an attack from another is an expression of his or her needs.

So I would like to have my attention on that need. What could their needs be?

I don’t know, but I could imagine half-a-dozen things.

They could have a need to protect society. And if, from their perspective, they think I am doing something harmful, I can understand trying to stop what they perceive as harmful actions. But, they are acting on misinformation.

I have gone to their blogs and contacted them to ask for open dialogues to gain an understanding of their perceptions and provide accurate information. They have responded with additional attacks and threats, rather than peaceful, life-enhancing dialogues.

Could it be true that someone is paying for this group of bloggers to blog hate messages about more than 100 companies and projects in the publishing industry that compete with this company? Could this be how the bloggers are paying their bills and feeding their families?

The group or company that might be paying for this could have needs to feel successful and feed their families. They could be feeling scared of competition believing the only way to fulfill their needs is to try to wipe out the competition in an attempt to increase their market share, stock price or company value.

If this were the case, I imagine the people who own the company, who may have hired these bloggers, could be trying to protect their resources, advance their businesses and make money to feed there families.

While I do not condone this, I can understand all humans have needs.

If this is true, I am very sad for their chosen ways and tactics. I wish they had more trust in Divine Source that there exists other more life-enhancing ways to be successful than trying to hurt others. I choose to not carry enemy images of them.

Because their needs are not being met doesn’t have anything to do with me or the show.

Even though I do not personally know these people, I can imagine these are beautiful human beings who are misguided in trying to have their needs met, doing so in tragic ways.

I can understand that they are making these choices for the same reason all human beings do everything: to meet needs in the best way they know how at the moment.

Love is the Answer

I believe Love is the answer to this. What I want in my life is compassion and a loving flow between me and others based on mutual giving from the heart.

Attack happens when people are taught to analyze and blame rather than clearly expressing what they need.

From the moment people start talking about their needs, rather than what is wrong with others, the possibility of finding ways to meet everyone’s needs greatly increases.

What do you suppose the beautiful human needs are behind these blogs?

It might be some very simple, human basic needs — beautiful, understandable needs wrapped in ugly, tragic strategy.

Part of the needs may be to feed their families, if they were hired. If people are paying them, they may see that this is the only way to feed their families.

I envision and have joined a team co-creating an online community of cultural leaders helping people and businesses solve problems, make decisions, create and live from Love and Light in the Highest Good for All.

Is this culture even possible online? We believe so.

     “The Once a Week Cook: 6 Meals in 60 Minutes” includes shopping lists and package labels. It is how to prepare 6 meals in 1 hour. Meals will be refrigerated or frozen and then basically heat and serve daily. As a working mother who has little time to put food on the table, my book will help others just like me.

Tell us about your background:

     I have been an entrepreneur since childhood. My mom said when I was born she always saw me being an author. I’ve worked in food, TV, radio, traffic safety and education. When I went to college at 36, I finally believed I could do it. In seven years I’ve earned my Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. I am outgoing, fun and a regular person.

     “Four Days: A Thanksgiving Travesty” is a holiday book that gives a whole new meaning to being thankful

 Tell us about your background:

     I have been writing poetry and short stories since the age of 7. At the age of 12, I knew I wanted to be a published author. Thirty-three years later, I have completed over 200 song lyrics, four poetry books, 38 short stories, 11 screenplays, six fictional novels and one non-fiction how “not” to book.

     While I haven’t struck gold in the television or movie industry, I most definitely have gained knowledge and experience that, despite the rough spots, have motivated me to continue to move onward and upward in my writing career.

     I am the ordinary and typical 9 to 5 above average American female who does it all and wants it all. I’m mentally and physically capable of succeeding at any task. This is my time to make my dreams a true reality.

What is your book, writing or book idea about?

     “The King’s Men” and “It’s All About School.”

     “The King’s Men” is a fictional story which acknowledges struggles men may face daily, whether being drugs and alcohol abuse, gang involvement, suicidal thoughts, lack of motivation due to being unemployed, to name a few. By becoming a “King’s Men,” men can seek ways to overcome any obstacle.

     “It’s All About School” is an educational, inspirational book of poems which discusses such topics as teen pregnancy, being bullied, peer mediation and deterring from gang involvement, to name a few. Various topics are elaborated in the poems which youth may encounter during their school journeys, whether its middle or high school. The book also discusses how many youths are positive role models for others. The wonderful graphic illustrations included in the book were drawn by youths.

     Having such an extended background in writing and the human service field, the overall concept of my books and writings consist of helping others conquer their fears, seek hope and prosper in learning and achieving their life goals.


Tell us about your background:

     I founded Gracious Hands Literary Company. This business was formed to encourage youths and adults experiencing struggles and abuse, and who are in need of encouragement through literature and uplifting, educational, drama presentations.

     I organized and formed a drama group called The Creator’s Vision. This dynamic group performed my writings at various locations including youth recreational centers, schools, elderly residential facilities, The Salvation Army, churches, The GEVA Theatre and various other locations, normally without any fee or cover charge to attend the events. I self-published my two books, “The King’s Men” and “It’s All About School.” I produced the educational course entitled, “Basic Steps to Develop Your First Book.” This course teaches individuals concrete steps to self-publish a book.

     I work as a country program manager for Persons in Need of Supervision Mediation Program. The mediation services aid students in decision-making skills and add a fresh motivation for them to attend school and display positive behaviors at home, school and within the community.

What is your book, writing or book idea about?

     “The Longships of Orion” is about an alternative universe when descendents of the Vikings rule a group of star systems forming in the Consortium, an alien enemy threatens to destroy the Viking civilization until and unless a new leader can be found to achieve ultimate victory.

Tell us about your background:

     I am a computer engineer and have developed new systems for most of the last 29 years. I have a Masters degree in Physics and have been writing in my spare time since I was in elementary school.

     As you can see from my video, I have a unique presence with my Viking Immersion Program. As I said in my video, I have taken Staged Combat to learn how to fight with bladed weapons to enhance my writing. I have worked very hard to learn what is needed to improve my novel to get it published.

     I am outgoing, imaginative and work well with others. I can be entertaining and fun to be around. While I can follow, I am not afraid to lead, as I have managed people many times during my career.

      “For God’s Sake: Celebrating Life as a Sacred Transformation” is based on events leading up to and following the still-birth of my first born son, and the major life lessons I learned in transforming even a negative experience, such as this, into a positive step on my journey to achieve my spiritual destiny. This is for anyone who has experienced loss, tragedies or set-back of any kind.

 Tell us about your background:

    I was a Rotary Exchange Student and attended college in New Zealand. I worked from 1969 to 1982 as a model with national and international modeling agencies. A major challenge that shaped my life was the death of my first born son in childbirth. As a result of this, I was forced to surrender my own selfish desires to mother one child to a greater plan to mother thousands through their various losses by writing a book that would inspire them to celebrate life as a scared transformation. I wish to assist in leading women to freedom of spirit, for with the balance of female and male energy in the world, will come healing, peace, stability, spiritual growth and real love. I have a vision and dream to fulfill.

     “Everybody’s South of Somewhere” is a twisted look at America seen through the eyes of a southerner. It is based on true life experiences and can be best summed up in one word: Awfullydamnedfunny.

 Tell us about your background:

     I attended college for engineering but instead become a machinist. After 20 years, I quit my steady job to concentrate on my writing, as well as a national magazine I started called “American Digger.” I also run an antiques business. My goal is to share my writing with more of the world…God help them.

     Rather than waxing poetically let me list: I have neither small children nor day job, so I can travel. I’m not a drinker, so I’d be sober for the tapings much of the time. I’m a writer, which I feel is a big bonus for potential contestants. I’ve been to big cities before, so I won’t embarrass myself or others. I’ve been on camera before, so I won’t require repeated takes due to looking doe-eyed and slack-jawed into the lens. I’m used to speaking engagements, so I can talk coherently to more than one person at a time. I will write for food; ‘nuff said.

     “The Truth About Being an Extra: How to Become a Background Actor” is about helping new people get a foot in the door of “show biz’ the right way. The book tells the truth about all the sharks in Hollywood, where they swim and how to find the good guys. The purpose of this book is to help all new people trying to break into “show business.”

Tell us about your background:

     While working for a PR firm, I met and married the veteran actor Jack Kelly, who starred with James Garner in the TV series “Maverick.” Jack died in 1993.

     I have been a background actor for 25 years. I was terrified at the thought of getting up in front of a group of strangers to teach them something. However, I had spent so much time and money and worked so hard, I knew that I had to try, even if I failed. The great Babe Ruth once said, “Don’t let the fear of failure get in your way.”

     I explained what it was like to work on a set, what to expect, wardrobe and what “camera ready” meant. I explain which agencies to register with that will book you for work. The seminar went so well, some of the people actually paid me extra to help them get registered.

     Now, I’ve written a book and produced an audio and set up a web site so people all over the world who want to come to Hollywood to break into the business can avoid the pitfalls and disappointments I encountered. I did it the hard way, but I can show you how to do it the right way and have fun doing it.

     My book is “The Obstacle is You!” Identifying and Healing Your Life Wound.” Although we have all acquired many battle scars in life, we each have one particularly deep wound that dominates our behavior. It is also the key to our purpose in life.

     I have used this topic in business consulting sessions and it has been very effective. I own my own consulting firm, have been vice president of finance and have a CPA and bachelors degree. I have the potential to be very successful as a writer and speaker. I’ve been successful before in other industries, and I know how I did it. As a writer, I have good ideas and the skills to communicate them. Perhaps, more importantly, I really want to help people and communicate with them.

     I co-own with my husband a creative arts company, A Starry Night Productions, that promotes local creative artists and their works. We also sponsor community benefits concerts. I love my novel. Everyone who has read it loves it. In my novel, I want to draw attention to a wonderful non-profit music program called Guitars Not Guns. I have written an excellent novel.      “Just Another YoYo Contest” is a memoir. My journey winds its way humorously through sex, drugs and jazz beginning into an extensive career as a film and television actor. Later I enjoyed careers as top-producing stockbroker and real estate executive. My rise and fall and rise-again life as been described as Forrest Gump with brains. The story’s message is wholesome with a positive influence on readers looking for encouragement.

     After a 10 year stint on the road as a musician with Harry James, Les Brown, Billy Eckstine, Perez Prado and others, I pursued a career as an actor. With over 50 movie and TV titles to my credit, I decided to try business and went into real estate. Concluding a successful career as a RE broker, I switched to stocks and bonds. Eventually retiring from investment banking at 47, I had plenty of time to try my hand at a myriad of retirement jobs from school teacher, bus driver, entrepreneur, fisherman and mentor. You’ll look for a long time before you find someone with as many interesting life experiences as I have. I have “antique” value. Let’s face it. How many people can say they’ve rubbed shoulders with Mae West, taught Marvin Gaye how to ride a motorcycle, played cards with Helen Hayes, shot golf with Billy Eckstine and was introduced to Christianity by way of a beautiful pair of legs. My story is an actual example of how one man has been naïve enough to exclude the possibility of failure in his life.

I worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). I then became co-owner in a local theater before deciding to become a Realtor. I have raised my son as a single mother.      Title is “View from the Top of the Mast.” It is an autobiography of crewing on sailboats in my early days. It includes younger life, interesting folks met, life right on the rocky beaches above Los Angeles Harbor, Hollywood during WWII, lots of oddities of history that are long forgotten.

 Tell us about your background

     I was raise on Pacific Ocean and sailed from the age of 12. Instead of college, I opted for crewing on sailboats through out the Pacific, etc. Divorced and had tourist shop in “Cowboy Capital,” managed two 500 acre resort ranches. I lived in Hawaii, California, Puerto Rico, Florida, Connecticut and Texas.

     “Sweet Adeline Evans” is about a professional woman who works her way up through Corporate American. She turns a male dominated company into 98% female executives and president and CEO. She is reunited with the love of her life after 15 years. She couldn’t have him then and can’t have him now.

Tell us about your background:

     I am a story teller. Once I do my research and development on a topic, I can run with it. My imagination is my best quality for this profession. I feel I have several “great” story lines to pursue. I have been in advertising sales, magazine editor, production manager and general manager.

     Computer professional since 1966, when hired as a programmer trainee on a mainframe computer system. After working my way through various job responsibilities in the information technology department of four large corporations, I founded my computer consulting practice in 1972. I believe everyone benefits from the success of any one individual. And this show has the potential to raise the consciousness and education of many prospective authors.

      “Birds of a Feather” is about a teacher who spends three years in a new town attempting to forge ahead from a formidable past. All the while, she teaches her students the value of believing in themselves through the hidden lessons in “To Kill a Mockingbird” and an old lullaby with the same winged friend.

     I was raised in New England in the private school arena with my five siblings. My father taught English at our school while my mother stayed home and raised us. I went on to graduate from the University of Virginia with a degree in English, education and a minor in computer science. I am a high school English teacher who writes on the side. Life is about patience, intentions, thought (and its influences) and modeling these qualities.

What is your book, writing or book idea about?

     My book, “Cuba, The Tarnished Pearl” is based on a journal that my father left me. He only asked for me to wait 30 years after his death to publish it. It is about Cuba, how we got out of Cuba and my family struggles. It needs to be read by so many who take freedom for granted.

Tell us about your background.

     My family immigrated to this great country (USA) in 1965 with only what each of us was wearing at the time. At the age of nine, I was already an entrepreneur at a local flea market, was recruiting neighborhood kids to collect unwanted returnable bottles and had a paper route. In high school, one day I was called into the office and told I needed to get home because of an emergency. When I got there my father was being wheeled into an ambulance. He had a stroke and 18 days later passed away. I was very concerned about my mother and baby sister. I was given a “free ride” to attend several universities for my soccer and football skills. During my university years from 1976 to 1980 we won two NCAA Division One championships. At the end of my four years I was given the highest award a soccer player may receive: The Gus Donahue Soccer Award.

     In 2005, I became a realtor. I also write for several newspapers and internet periodicals. I am full of life and a “people person.” My faith helps me very much. In March 2004, I drove myself to the hospital and had a successful five by-pass open heart surgery. God knew my children needed me and my book had to be finished. People will see my playful ways, my sincerity, my struggles, my motivation and my patriotism for this country.

     “My World’s View” is how I viewed the world as a deaf child written in poetic style.

 Tell us about your background:

     I have been working in the retail industry ever since I was old enough to work. I have worked various jobs. I have been trusted with various responsibilities. I try to make those around me enjoy the things that they have a little bit more. If something makes someone happy, I will do what I can to make it happen for them. I have hosted poetry events at a few local venues. I have spoken as a guest speaker to a school for the deaf.

     I am a unique person with a personality that would not be considered that of an author or even a poet. Many people express surprise when I share with them that I have written two books, “My World’s View” and “To Chase a Heart.” I don’t like to be bound by stereotypes, and I don’t fit the mold that other authors are generally typecast as. It’s who I am. I want to show that despite a “disability” that anything is possible as long as there are dreams and desires to pursue.

What is your book, writing or book idea about?

     “Birth Outside the Box: A Labor and Delivery Nurse’s Experience of Homebirth” is about the impact and experience of homebirth. It is about a woman’s experience of birth and how it impacts her life and being and the politics of birth. I am passionate about women’s health and reproduction. I believe my issues are timely and relevant. I have much to offer on the discourse of healthcare as it is delivered to women and the politics of birth. This book is a part of my life purpose. I believe I have equipped and prepared myself to be an excellent representative for these issues.

   
Tell us about your background:

     I work full time running my own company, a safety training firm, The CPR Lady. I am also a labor and delivery nurse. I was pregnant as a teen and became an instant social outcast. I had to learn to hold my head up and move through the world taking care of business without approval or social support. I had to become self reliant. At age 26, I had a homebirth. I took a risk and stepped out in faith, doing what I thought was best against the advice of others. It was a glorious experience that changed my life. I learned to listen to myself.

      “Until September” is about a boy falling in love with another boy for the first time. Love between parent and child, siblings, best friends and a circle of friends.

 Tell us about your background:

     I have a double major in telecommunications and film and technical writing with a minor in literature. I was on the Dean’s List and involve in many groups: Golden Key, Stoic Society and English Club. I was a movie critic and features editor for the student paper. I am now an editor. I am interesting, interested, sharp, funny and goofy. I’m not afraid of a challenge and don’t embarrass easily. I play hard, take chances, am confident and can deal with pressure. I know my strengths and how to market them. I’m accessible, likeable and fun. Most of all, I truly believe in my novel. It is my heart. And I have so many stories to tell.
